How multiplayer works
From invite link to final bankruptcy — here’s how a game comes together.
1. Start with a room
Open the Play page and you have two routes. Hit Play Now and you’ll be matched into a public game with other players. Prefer your own group? Create a private room and share the invite link — friends can join by opening the link or entering the room code. No account needed; everyone just picks a name.
2. Set the game up your way
The host controls the room before the game starts: how many players (2 to 8), how much starting cash everyone gets, and whether the room stays private. When everyone’s in, the host starts the game and the dice start rolling.
3. Play in turns, trade in real time
Play moves in turn order, and each turn is a familiar loop: roll, move, buy or pay rent. The board updates live for everyone, so you can watch deals and bankruptcies as they happen. Between turns you can propose trades — cash, properties, Get Out of Jail Free cards — and negotiate in real time. A turn timer keeps the game moving, so nobody can stall the board.
4. Drop out and come back
Losing your connection doesn’t have to end your game. If your internet drops, just reopen the room link — RentNation keeps a reconnect token on your device and drops you back into your seat, with your properties and cash intact.

How many players can play together?
Up to 8. When you create a room you choose the player limit — between 2 and 8 — and only that many people can join.
Do my friends need an account to join my game?
No. Anyone can join by opening your invite link or entering the room code and picking a name — no sign-up, no download.
What happens if I lose my connection mid-game?
Reopen the room link and you’ll rejoin automatically — the game keeps a reconnect token on your device so you can pick up where you left off.
