What is RentNation?
RentNation is a free, browser-based multiplayer property trading game. Buy properties, collect rent, build houses and hotels, and trade with other players in real time. The last player with cash left wins the game.
Is RentNation free to play?
Yes — completely free. There are no subscriptions, no in-game purchases, and no pay-to-win shortcuts. Every player starts with the same amount of cash, so winning comes down to strategy.
Do I need to download anything?
No. RentNation runs entirely in your web browser on any modern device. There is nothing to install — just open the site, join a game, and play.
Do I need to create an account?
No account or sign-up is required. You can jump straight into a game, and if you ever lose your connection, the game keeps a reconnect token on your device so you can rejoin the same game.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Create a private room and share the invite link with friends. They can join instantly from their own browser or phone — no account needed on their end either.
How do private rooms work?
When you create a room, RentNation gives you a private invite link. Only people with that link can join, so strangers cannot drop into your game. You control who plays and can start the game whenever everyone is ready.
How many players can join a game?
Up to 8 players can play in a single game. Fewer players means a faster, more focused match; larger groups make for longer, more chaotic games.
Can I play on mobile?
Yes. RentNation is fully responsive, so the board, trading, and chat work on phones and tablets. Just open the site in your mobile browser and play.
How do I start playing?
Go to the Play page, create a room, and share the invite link with friends — or join a friend’s game. Once everyone is in, the host starts the game and the dice start rolling. New to the rules? Check the How to Play page first.
How long does a game take?
Most games run between roughly 45 minutes and an hour and a half. The exact length depends on the number of players and how aggressively everyone trades, mortgages, and bankrupts each other.
How do I win?
Be the last player with money left. Buy properties to charge rent, build houses and hotels to raise it, and trade shrewdly to push every opponent into bankruptcy.
Can I trade with other players?
Yes. During a game you can propose trades at any time, swapping cash, properties, and Get Out of Jail Free cards. Trades are confirmed in real time and can make or break your strategy.
What happens if I lose my connection mid-game?
If your internet drops, reopen the room link to get back in — the game keeps a reconnect token on your device so you can pick up where you left off.
